it is denied By the forced subjugation of the feminine
By the denial of the physical and psychic autonomy of the feminine
Across entire swathes of over-masculinised modern human cultures
Across all the over-masculinised social spheres across the world today

This story and its gifts have been malevolently denigrated for millennia
This corralling of the modern human into an over-masculinised state has been to the enormous detriment of humanity and the more-than-human community and our whole Earthland

Inside this ancestral knowledge story we experience the animate presence of these our forbears
They flow through our sentient bodies
Animate our consciousness
Open us to the Outerior mind of nature

This story comes to our aid in a time of pending catastrophe
Even after millennia of denial and denigration
This story comes to shine a light on a pathway toward ecological consciousness
To shine a light on more-than-human persons as our profound guides
To shine a light on the totemic world mostly invisible to our modern dualistic eyes

They come to show us that more-than-human persons are our teachers, initiators, guides and healers
And that these persons perform these profound roles out of deep reciprocity
And that without connecting with them and honouring them we cannot recover ourselves or our Earthland
We cannot comprehend the sacredness of ourselves and the entire more-than-human world without understanding this

With our She-Deer guides we find unity within nature
We become part of the greater connective whole
We find the incomparable intelligence of nature as our true guide
